Programs Offered

CROSSFIT (60 Minutes)

This class can turn boring workouts into fun, exciting, and always changing forms of fitness. The goal is to help you build strength and improve your health and fitness through daily workouts. These classes are 60 minutes and include your warm up, WOD (workout of the day), a skill or strength component, and generally some extra work opportunities to help build strength, mobilize, or recover. The programming for these classes are designed to meet the needs of our varied member population. The overall goal is to help you become a healthier version of yourself so that everyday tasks are easier; all in 60 minutes a day. Individuals participating in these classes are supported and encouraged to scale workouts to meet their individual goals and personal limitations.

BOOT CAMP (45 minutes)

This class is the same as our CrossFit classes that are offered; with a few differences. This class involves use of no barbells. Instead of barbells we focus on use of kettlebells, sand bags, slam balls, jump ropes, dumbbells, rings, boxes, and various cardio options. The purpose of this class is to help you build functional strength. We want you to be able to pick up your kids, carry in your groceries easily, and move without injury. This class may be a great fit for someone who is new to fitness, someone who is pregnant or post partum, recovering from an injury, or just looking for a quick 45 minute class to meet their fitness needs. The class primarily consists of a specific warm up, the workout, and depending on the day some short accessory work to compliment the workout.

OLYMPIC LIFTING SEMINAR

During this class you will work either 1:1 or in a small group focusing on the technique involved in only the Snatch or the Clean and Jerk. This course involves a significant amount of time learning how to warm up, understand our own mobility needs, and practicing with a PVC pipe or light load. The goal of this seminar is to improve in your technique to execute the movements properly and safely so that you may begin to increase load and intensity in the movement. Members may sign up for this at any point when they feel they may need some additional support outside of the regular class sessions.

PREGNANCY AND POSTPARTUM

The chapter in your life prior to pregnancy, pregnancy, and postpartum are an important chapter in your life and being able to safely engage in fitness opportunities is important to many women. This class will teach women strategies to effectively engage their core, build up strength, modify movements, and rehab after birth. Our athletes are also invited to our BBCF Mom strong group on facebook where they have an interactive online community lead by Jennifer Stephens Pregnancy and Postpartum Athletecism Certified coach.

NUTRITION

While moving and engaging in effective programming is important to helping us improve our health and fitness, nutrition is another piece to your success. We do not prescribe to a specific “diet” but rather support long term sustainable changes that allows us to fuel our bodies properly. Individual nutritional needs can be addressed as needed.

ADAPTIVE ATHLETE TRAINING

Creating programs for all athletes in an inclusive environment is important to help all individuals achieve their fitness goals. The primary objective of adaptive fitness is to empower individuals with disabilities to achieve their fitness goals by tailoring exercises and workout plans to their unique needs. This type of fitness training promotes inclusivity, independence, and a sense of accomplishment among participants, regardless of their physical limitations.

Adaptive fitness programs are designed to accommodate various disabilities, such as spinal cord injuries, amputations, cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, and more. These programs often use adaptive equipment, assistive devices, and exercise modifications to ensure safe and effective workouts. The goal is to improve mobility and enhance the ability to perform everyday tasks, such as walking, transferring, lifting objects, and reaching.

Adaptive fitness is a form of specialized and personal training specifically made for individuals with permanent or temporary disabilities. This training meets the needs of a specific individual, depending on what disability they have. Generally, the adaptive certified trainer will incorporate different techniques to help the individual with weight management, a healthier lifestyle, and more.

KIDS CROSSFIT

Kids fitness classes are designed to help children develop healthy patterns of movement, enjoy fitness, and find exercise to be an exciting enjoyable part of their day. Trainers will provide programming tailored to the needs of the individuals enrolled at the time to help them achieve their goals. Classes consist of warm up, learning a new skill, participating in a developmentally appropriate workout, and then ending with a game to tie it all together. All kids classes at Bourbon Barrel CrossFit are inclusive to all individuals.

TEEN CROSSFIT

Teen CrossFit is designed to help pre teens and teens put their foundational fitness skills together allowing them to get stronger, learn more complex movements, challenge themselves, and enjoy fitness. Our teens are able to engage in fitness opportunities with other teens with a range of fitness backgrounds and abilities. Once teens are comfortable with the movements they may transition to a combination of teen and adult classes.
